As one of England’s most historic towns, Kingston’s Ancient Market Place and riverside are full of sights and stories dating back to 838 AD. Let Kingston Tour Guides take you on an extraordinary journey, rich with tales and artefacts from the historic Coronation Stone of Saxon Kings to Coaching Inns and one of the most famous dogs in the world!
Kingston Walking Tours provide regular weekend walks every Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. from April to September and at 11:00 a.m. on the first Sunday of every month from October to March. We can also provide walks of Surbiton on a monthly basis in the summer months and provide talks on the history of Surbiton, if required. Walks cost £5 per person, £3 for 12 and under while 3 and under are free. Kingston Town Centre tours start from the gates of All Saints Church in the Ancient Market Place (behind the Market House).
We can also tailor our service to particular requirements, for example, private walks and illustrated talks. We regularly give talks to schools and colleges. Some topics that we are happy to provide walks and talks on include:
- Kingston's Historic Riverside
- From Fish to Flight (Industry in Kingston)
- Kingston’s Street Art
- Royal Kingston
- Kingston Characters (Talk only)
The Guides are volunteers from the local community who have been trained and independently assessed; only when qualified are they entitled to wear the official badge and to lead walking tours.
