Christmas at The Bentall Centre

The Bentall Centre is transforming into a festive wonderland this Christmas with plenty of events, pop-ups and even some musical performances to get everyone into the holiday spirit. Early November marks the return of The Bentall Centre Bears -  which no Christmas in Kingston could be without.

From the middle of November right through to the final weekend to buy presents; musical performances from choirs through to pop-up theatre groups will delight visitors and bring some festive cheer to shoppers.

For the children, a spectacular Elf Toy Testing Station will let little ones test out the best toys ahead of Christmas at the start of December. With mini lab coats, glasses and clipboards, children will be able to pick their favourite and vote on the giant score chart, with the help of the centre’s toy testing elves of course.

Finally, make Christmas even more personal this year with wreathmaking and table centrepiece decorating workshops throughout December to enjoy during the evenings and add a homemade touch to visitors’ Christmas decorations.

See the magical Hansel & Gretel at Rose Theatre Kingston

Following last year's successful show, this Christmas don't miss Hansel & Gretel, a new festive version of the Brothers Grimm's much-loved fairy tale written by Ciaran McConville.

Life is good in the little town of Freiburg. Somehow it has escaped the Great Famine laying blight to its neighbours. It has the highest of walls, the most bountiful of harvests and holds the biggest of parties. And everyone loves the town's mayor.

When young Hansel and Gretel are offered a trip to the city, with promises of a brighter future, little do they know of what awaits them in the forest... or realise how the sweet old lady at the gingerbread house might control their fate.

Battling magical beasts, enlisting a crew of fairy tale bandits and learning the secrets of their past, Hansel and Gretel must race to save their town from the Witch's Curse. And all in time for Christmas!

Featuring young actors from the Rose Youth Theatre alongside professional actors.
