25th October 10:00am to 5:00pm

Location: Cass Art

Join a wonderful day of textile art with expert weaver Hilary Charlesworth.

In this full day course held in the upstairs studio at Cass Art in Kingston, Hilary will teach you all the skills necessary to produce your own woven designs. Using a simple frame loom and a variety of yarns, you’ll spend the day learning how to weave a sampler of techniques, both traditional and 3D.

All materials, including loom and yarns, are included, so you’ll be able to continue practising at home on your loom.

The workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with some prior experience of tapestry weaving.

We’ll provide lots of tea, coffee and cake throughout the day and there will be a break for lunch, when you can either eat a packed lunch or treat yourself at one of the many cafes in Kingston.

Hilary is a very experienced teacher who’s been spinning and weaving for almost 30 years and has been featured on Kirsty Alsopp’s “Homemade House”.

In the event that the class is unable to go ahead due to the ongoing covid-19 virus situation, we will of course offer all participants the option of an alternative date or refund.

Cass Art is on a mission. A mission to fill every town with artists.
