Celebrating the life and works of Eadweard Muybridge, Kingston's famous photographer and inventor, Kingston Museum will be presenting a programme of events, workshops and lectures.

All events take place at Kingston Museum and are free to attend. Please book via the Museum's Eventbrite page for events which require booking.

Screening of Muybridge-inspired short animations
Presented by students of Kingston College Animation course
Suitable for all.

31 May, 18:00
Eadweard Muybridge’s Cultural Foundations and Legacies in Kingston
Lecture by Professor Fran Lloyd of Kingston University
Suitable for adults. Booking necessary.

2 June, 10.30am-12.30 and 14.30-16.30pm
MOVE IT!, Animated Movie Making Family Workshop
Come and create an animated film inspired by the work of Muybridge. Create characters and make them come alive on screen with the magic of stop motion animation!
Suitable for 5's and over. Children need an adult to accompany them. Booking necessary.

Up Close, Handling Session with Museum Curator Seoyoung Kim and photographer Paul Mowatt
A rare opportunity to closely examine original Muybridge artefacts and learn about Victorian photographic techniques
Suitable for all.

Poetry Reading Performance by celebrated poet Brendan Cleary. Specially commissioned Muybridge poems to be presented together with inspiring images from the Collection
